Lyon & Swan, San Francisco CA

Jorge and I had were on the hunt for some 5 star cocktails and that’s exactly what we thought we thought we were going to find at Lyon & Swan. When we strolled in, the host was super friendly and promptly found us a cozy spot to settle into.

Despite the place being on the smaller side, it was undeniably beautiful. The ambiance had a certain charm that drew us in. Eager to try those eye-catching cocktails, we placed our orders with high hopes.

Here’s where things took an unexpected turn. The drinks, unfortunately, didn’t quite live up to the picture-perfect expectations we had in mind. Disappointing, but hey, sometimes appearances can be deceiving, right?

Now, here’s where the plot thickens. We hadn’t planned on ordering any food since we weren’t particularly hungry; we were here for the drinks. But then, the manager approached our table and dropped a bombshell – apparently, Lyon and Swan “isn’t just a bar”. They exclusively cater to guests who are there to dine, not simply for the music or libations.

This revelation left us feeling a bit unwelcome and caught off guard, especially since we had no prior knowledge of a live performer scheduled for the evening. Reluctantly, I decided to order a dessert to appease the situation, and it turned out to be the highlight of our visit. Small victories, right?

However, it’s safe to say that Lyon & Swan didn’t quite hit the mark for us. Between the feeling of being out of place, the less-than-stellar drinks, and the unexpected dining policy, it’s unlikely we’ll be making a return trip on our next visit to the area. 🍹🎶
