Well, let me tell you about one of my absolute favorite spots, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant! I’ve been a proud wine club member and patron of the Doral and Pembroke Pines locations for a good five years now, and I can’t get enough of this place.

Their wine tasting counter is a fantastic way to kick off your visit or while killing some time before your meal, and the best part? It’s absolutely free with a wine club membership of two bottles or more.

Now, first things first, let’s talk about the food. Have you ever tried their Pretzel Bread Rolls? Holy moly, those things are something else. I don’t know how they do it, but I can easily demolish a whole roll by myself. Warm, soft, and salty – it’s comfort food at its finest.

But wait, there’s more! I’m head over heels for their Red Wine Braised Short Ribs with asparagus and Mary’s potatoes. It’s like a flavor explosion in your mouth, and those tender short ribs have me hooked. Paired with asparagus and Mary’s potatoes, it’s like a party for your taste buds. This dish typically comes with mixed veggies but I sub them for the asparagus. Jorge likes to play hopscotch with the menu each time we go but he always starts with a bowl of their Tortilla Soup, one of his favorite spots for it in the city.

Now, let’s get to the real reason we’re all here: the wine! I always start with the Wine of the Month because, well, why not? But I have to confess, I often end up with a glass of the Barrel Reserve. It’s like they’ve bottled magic in there. Smooth, rich, and absolutely delicious. I also love their fruity martinis, so I try and mix it up with a couple martinis here and there too.

Before I wrap up this love letter to Cooper’s Hawk, I’ve got to share my sweet dilemma with you. Dessert here is a whole other level of deliciousness. I’m torn between two heavenly options: the Key Lime Pie and the Chocolate Cake.

The Key Lime Pie is like a slice of Floridian paradise. It’s got that perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, and the graham cracker crust is a crunchy delight. It’s like a little vacation for your taste buds right at your table.

But then there’s the Chocolate Cake, and oh boy, it’s a chocoholic’s dream come true. Moist layers of chocolate goodness, each bite oozing with rich, velvety flavor. You can’t go wrong with either of these desserts – it’s like choosing between two different kinds of perfection.

I do have a soft spot for those Cheesecake Balls, too. Unfortunately, they haven’t made a comeback since the pandemic hit. But hey, fingers crossed they’ll be back soon because those bite-sized balls of creamy cheesecake were little bites of heaven when you just wanted a touch of sweetness after a meal.

What’s really special about Cooper’s Hawk, though, is the atmosphere. It’s cozy, comfortable, and just the right amount of fancy without being intimidating. Whether you’re on a romantic date or just hanging out with pals, it’s the perfect spot.

And don’t even get me started on the staff. They’re not just friendly; they’re beyond friendly. They make you feel like you’ve been best buddies for ages. Their enthusiasm for the menu and wine selection is infectious, and they’ll guide you to the perfect choice every time.

So there you have it, my Cooper’s Hawk adventure from start to finish. From the fantastic wine and unforgettable dishes to the dessert dilemma, it’s a dining experience that keeps me coming back for more. Here’s to Cooper’s Hawk and all the delicious memories to come! 🍰🍫🥂
