How Changing Phone Carriers Can Step Up Your Travel Game

How Changing Phone Carriers Can Step Up Your Travel Game

We made the switch from AT&T to T-Mobile, and honestly, it feels like we leveled up our travel experience. It’s not just about saving money (which we totally do). It’s about all the amazing travel perks that come with it. If you travel a lot—or even just now and then—this might be the best move you ever make.

Free AAA Membership – A Lifesaver!

T-Mobile gave us a FREE year of AAA membership, which really helped during our recent trip to Japan. (Subscribe now to see my upcoming post where I’ll explain exactly how it saved us!) If you’ve ever had car trouble, you know how valuable AAA can be. Now imagine getting it for free!

Free Wi-Fi on Flights

T-Mobile gives you free in-flight Wi-Fi on airlines like American Airlines, Delta, and Alaska Airlines. That means you can text, stream, and scroll while flying instead of pretending to be asleep to avoid awkward conversation with your seatmate. Just connect and enjoy.

No More Expensive Roaming Fees

With free international data, you can land in another country, turn off airplane mode, and start using your phone right away. No need to buy an eSIM or pay extra fees. Non data call are only .25 a min. Whether you're finding your way through Tokyo’s subway or sharing vacation pics from Paris, you’re covered.

T-Mobile Tuesdays: Free Food and More

Every Tuesday, T-Mobile gives out free food and other perks. We’ve scored free Dunkin’, Popeyes, and even a free T-Mobile umbrella. It’s like a little bonus just for being a customer. Who doesn’t love freebies?

Better Service, Better Customer Support

Not only is our phone service actually better now (bye-bye, AT&T dead zones), but T-Mobile’s customer service is way better too. No more waiting on hold forever or getting bounced around to different departments. They actually help you, which is a nice change.

T-Mobile Paid Off Our Phones!

One of the biggest perks? T-Mobile paid off our phones to make transferring from AT&T super easy. No huge out-of-pocket costs to switch—just better service and more perks.

T-Mobile signed us up for Starlink Beta, which means we can stay connected even in the middle of nowhere—yes, even in the middle of the ocean. Right now, the service is limited to text messaging, but if you ever want to check in on your furry friend while chilling on a cruise, T-Mobile still has your back.

And We Pay Less?!

With all these perks, you’d think we’d be paying more, right? Nope. Our monthly bill is actually lower than what we paid with AT&T.

Final Thoughts: Totally Worth It

If you travel, switching to T-Mobile is a no-brainer. Free flight Wi-Fi, international data, AAA coverage, food perks, and even satellite internet? We’re sold.
